PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, February 10 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider recommending adoption of a reasonable accommodation ordinance that would make it easier for seniors and disabled people to win approval of new homes and renovation of existing homes that accommodate their needs. The board will also consider a proposal to tear down a warehouse at 1835 Oak Street to build condominiums and shops.

YOUTH ADVISORY COMMISSION

The Youth Advisory Commission meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 11 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will hold a work session on a tobacco presentation and discuss the status of a 2014 teen job fair and a possible resource website.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council will conduct a closed-door meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 11 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will conduct performance evaluations of City Manager John Russo, City Attorney Janet Kern and City Clerk Lara Weisiger.

CIVIL SERVICE BOARD

The Civil Service Board meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 11 in the Regina K. Stafford Meeting Room at the Main Library has been canceled.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 11 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board receive presentations on the status of the district’s English learner program, technology and a state law that allows school districts to forego formal bidding requirements in certain circumstances. The board will also install student board members for Alameda High School and Encinal High School and consider approval of a host of policy changes, including charter school oversight and accountability for achievement of students in different racial and socioeconomic subgroups.

RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION
