PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 8 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Planning Board will consider an appeal of design review approval allowing a 235-square-foot second-story addition to a single-family home at 2615 Buena Vista Avenue. The board will also consider approval of design review, a density bonus application and waivers for an Alameda Housing Authority plan to build 22 units of affordable housing at 2437 Eagle Avenue.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider a budget for 2015-16 and for Proposition 30 sales tax funds. The board will also consider its options for filling a board seat vacated by the death of Nielsen Tam. The board will also consider approval of membership for the Measure I bond oversight committee and also, whether to increase school lunch prices by 10 cents. The board will also consider approving innovative educational plans for Henry Haight and Franklin elementary schools. The board will also hold a public hearing on its proposed Local Control Accountability Plan and receive an update on instructional leadership professional learning.

RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION

The Recreation and Park Commission holds its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will elect officers and receive reports from commission members, Friends of the Parks and the recreation and park director.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will receive a presentation on the Social Service Human Relations Board’s homeless survey. The council will also conduct a public hearing to consider collection of delinquent business license and garbage collection fees through property tax bills. The council will also consider a recommendation to provide input to Avery & Associates on the council’s desired qualifications for a new city manager, the recruitment brochure and the selection process. The council will also consider selection of council member liaisons for the City Council/Board of Education subcommittee and the City Council/Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors subcommittee.
