CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 6 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will consider approving the formation of a pair of special districts encompassing the new Alameda Landing development, hold an election among its existing landowners to permit additional taxes to fund infrastructure and services there and conduct the first of two hearings ordering the taxes to be levied. The council will also consider approving a needs statement as a precursor to budgeting nearly $1.1 million in anticipated federal money for social services and blight removal, and will consider Mayor Marie Gilmore’s nomination of former Public Utilities Board commissioner John McCahan to the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.

ALAMEDA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD

The Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 8 in the Dal Cielo Conference Room on the second floor of Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will discuss a retention bonus for Chief Executive Officer Deborah E. Stebbins and changes to her employment contract that address the in-progress affiliation deal with Alameda Health System; consider approval of a new contract with 26 radiology and surgery department workers; and consider acceptance of unaudited financials for November.

AMERICA’S CUP AD HOC COMMITTEE

The America’s Cup Ad Hoc Committee meets at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 9 in Conference Room 391 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The committee is scheduled to discuss a work plan and approve a meeting schedule for 2014.

RESTORATION ADVISORY BOARD

The Restoration Advisory Board meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 9 in Suite 140 at City Hall West, 950 West Mall Parkway, Alameda Point.

On the agenda: The board will receive and discuss presentations on radiological contamination in sediment and Site 1 remedial design and remedial action.

RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION

The Recreation and Park Commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 9 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will receive an update on Alameda’s paratransit program and an overview of community feedback on the planned Jean Sweeney Open Space Park master plan and next steps.
