PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, January 13 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will review and consider approval of a crosswalk at Wilver “Willie” Stargell Avenue and Webster Street. The board will also consider approving resolutions recommending the City Council certify a final environmental impact report and approve general plan and zoning amendments and a master infrastructure plan for development at Alameda Point.

YOUTH ADVISORY COMMISSION

The Youth Advisory Commission meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 14 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will discuss the results of a tobacco retail license opinion poll and a “focus of tobacco presentation.” The commission will also receive an update on the 2014 teen job fair.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider a 1.75 percent raise for all of the district’s staff; receive reports on charter school facilities requests and possible charter school locations for the 2014-15 school year, Measure A parcel tax expenditures in 2012-13, Common Core State Standards implementation and the district’s Teacher of the Year launch; consider approval of a resolution supporting the state’s new funding formula, the Local Control Funding Formula; and hear a proclamation marking A Season for Nonviolence.

GOLF COMMISSION

The Golf Commission meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 14 in the Ladies Lounge at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex, 1 Clubhouse Memorial Road.

CIVIL SERVICE BOARD

The Civil Service Board meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday, January 15 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will hear an appeal of former City Engineer Barbara Hawkins’ termination and consider approval of Alameda Municipal Power’s request to perform a lateral transfer of an employee from a senior management analyst job to a senior human resources analyst position.
