PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, July 14 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will hold a public hearing and consider approving the proposed conceptual design for Estuary Park. The board will also hold elections for board officers and receive a report from its Alameda Point town center subcommittee.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator will hold a hearing at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The administrator will conduct design review and consider approving a use permit to allow Sila Nanotechnologies, Inc. at 2450 Mariner Square Loop to use an existing outdoor enclosure to store liquid nitrogen and silane gas tanks for research and development purposes.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will consider approving exclusive agreements to negotiate the sale of 5.5 acres of Alameda Point taxiway and the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters to Alameda United Commercial. The council will also consider adopting a new general plan housing element for 2015-23 and a master plan for the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. The council will also hold a public hearing to determine whether a majority protest against increasing fees in the Island City Landscaping and Lighting District in an area that covers Webster Street between Central and Atlantic avenues and will consider adopting a resolution confirming the results of the vote. The council will also introduce ordinances approving a 12-month lease for Walashek Industrial & Marine in Building 517 at 150 West Trident Avenue at Alameda Point and amending Pacific Fine Foods’ lease in Building 42 at 2480 Monarch Street at Alameda Point. The council will also adopt a resolution commending Alameda Police Capt. David Boersma for his contributions to the city.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education will hold a special, closed door meeting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 16 in the Ballena Conference Room at the district office, 2060 Challenger Drive.

On the agenda: The board will interview candidates for the interim superintendent position.
