ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 3 in Conference Room 391 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Zoning Administrator will consider approval of a use permit for a new, 2,700-square-foot grocery store at 2536 Santa Clara Avenue and also, permission for the store to remain open until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 3 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will decide whether to place a proposed open space initiative on the November ballot, approve the ordinance outright or order a report on the potential impact of the proposed measure. The council will also consider granting a $431,200 contract to Brown, Reynolds and Watford to provide design, construction documents and contract administration for a new Fire Station 3. The council will also consider the mayor’s nominations for the Civil Service Board, Commission on Disability Issues, Golf Commission, Historical Advisory Board, Library Board, Planning Board, Recreation and Park Commission, and Social Service Human Relations Board. A proposal to raise garbage rates by 2.62 percent has been postponed for the council’s June 17 meeting.

CITY OF ALAMEDA HEALTHCARE DISTRICT BOARD

The City of Alameda Healthcare District Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 in the Dal Cielo Conference Room on the second floor of Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approval of resolution authorizing the levy of the annual hospital parcel tax, an election for four board seats in November and changes in the procedure used to fill a board vacancy to reflect Alameda Hospital's affiliation with Alameda Health System. The board will also consider changes to employee pension plans that may be needed to transition the hospital's workforce to the countywide public health system. The board will also consider approving changes to its signature authority, a board meeting calendar for the remainder of 2014, the purchase of insurance policies and a certification and mutual indemnity agreement related to the parcel tax.

HISTORICAL ADVISORY BOARD

The Historical Advisory Board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider certificates of approval to restore and modify the Del Monte warehouse and to restore the street-level façade at the Schroeder Building at 1437 Park Street, which is slated to house a tavern. The board will also consider approving a list of potential new street names, including names to be used in the Alameda Landing and Marina Cove II developments, and will review the draft waterfront town center plan for Alameda Point.
