CITY COUNCIL/BOARD OF EDUCATION SUBCOMMITTEE

The City Council/Board of Education Subcommittee meets at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 in Conference Room 391 in City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The subcommittee will receive an update and discuss next steps for a land and cash swap deal to be approved by the City Council, Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and Board of Education.

BOARD OF EDUCATION POLICY SUBCOMMITTEE

The Board of Education policy subcommittee meets at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 in the Harbor Bay Conference Room 135 in the district office, 2060 Challenger Drive.

On the agenda: The subcommittee will review and discuss California School Boards Association updates from August and October 2013.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will accept $17 million in streets and backbone infrastructure for Alameda Landing and consider adopting plans and specifications and sending out to bid a 1.8-mile bikeway project on Shore Line Drive, West Line Drive and Broadway.

ALAMEDA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 in the Dal Cielo Conference Room at Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider accepting unaudited financials for January, receive a presentation on hospital acquired pressure ulcers and receive reports.

HISTORICAL ADVISORY BOARD

The Historical Advisory Board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider a request to restore and modify a pre-1942 home at 1338 Eighth Street that was damaged by a fire, which is on the historical building study list. The board will also consider granting a certificate of approval allowing the owner of 1315 Mound Street to raise the basement a foot and a half in order to make the basement habitable and to reconfigure the rear of the home to create a uniform roof line and restore the home’s decorative elements. The board will also hear presentations on a proposal for Monopoly Plaza on Alameda Point and for adaptive residential reuse of the Del Monte warehouse at 1501 Buena Vista Avenue.
