PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, March 10 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will review a draft housing element for the general plan covering the years 2015-2023 and consider setting a public review period for the document, which lists the city’s housing accomplishments, available land and constraints. The board will also receive a presentation about adaptive reuse plans for the former Del Monte warehouse on Buena Vista Avenue. A hearing to consider street names and colors for homes at Alameda Landing is being postponed until April 12.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Zoning Administrator will consider approving a use permit allowing unenclosed U-Haul rental vehicle storage at 1910 Grand Avenue.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approval of a land and cash swap deal with the city and the Alameda Housing Authority. The board will also consider acceptance of the district’s second interim financial report, which demonstrates Alameda Unified’s ability to cover its bills. The board will also receive reports detailing the district’s effort to address an over-representation of African American, Latino and multi-ethnic student in some special education programs; progress on a master facilities plan and draft educational specifications for future facilities; and a timeline for completed a state-mandated accountability plan under California’s new school funding scheme.

GOLF COMMISSION

The Golf Commission meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 in the Ladies Lounge at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex, 1 Clubhouse Memorial Road.

On the agenda: The commission will receive a status report on golf complex renovations, if any, and a report from parks director Amy Wooldridge about plans to expand the Jim’s On the Course restaurant.

RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION

The Recreation and Park Commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will review and make a recommendation on a proposal to remove the storm-damaged Clark Memorial Bench from Jackson Park. The commission will also receive an update on the jean Sweeney Open Space Park.
