PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD

The Public Utilities Board is holding a special budget workshop at 4 p.m. Monday, April 21 at the Alameda Municipal Power Service Center. The board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 21 at the Alameda Municipal Power Service Center.

On the agenda: At its budget workshop, the board will review and comment on a draft of Alameda Municipal Power’s fiscal year 2015 budget, slated for approval on June 23. At its regular meeting, the board will discuss raising electric rates by 4 percent for residents, 0.1 percent for businesses and between two and 50 percent for municipal users. The board will also discuss a proposal from Community Action from a Sustainable Alameda to continue AMP’s existing solar program or to modify a proposed new program to make it more attractive for new solar users. The board will also consider approving amended agreements with the Northern California Power Association, an agency that manages a power pool shared by several utilities.

PLANNING BOARD AND HISTORICAL ADVISORY BOARD

The Planning Board and Historical Advisory Board are conducting a joint special meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at the Del Monte Warehouse, 1501 Buena Vista Avenue.

On the agenda: The boards are conducting a special public workshop and tour to discuss the proposed reuse of the historic warehouse. Participants are asked to park and enter on the Sherman Street side of the building.

TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION

The Transportation Commission is holding a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will consider and provide a recommendation to the City Council on a draft transportation demand management plan for Alameda Point. The commission will also consider a proposal to spend $1.3 million in federal grant money on extending a bus queue jump lane on Webster Street between Wilver “Willie” Stargell Avenue and Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway and extending the Cross Alameda Trail along Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway from Webster Street to Main Street. The commission will also consider and make a recommendation on federal grant applications to help fund another section of the Cross Alameda Trail, through Jean Sweeney Open Space Park; for a traffic signal in front of Encinal High School; and for Bay Trail projects.
