PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD

The Public Utilities Board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 16 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will receive presentations on a 10-year financial pro forma model for Alameda Municipal power and a supplemental solar energy program that could be put in place once Alameda’s existing program slots are filled.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator will conduct a hearing at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The administrator will consider extending an existing use permit that would allow Antiques by the Bay to continue its monthly antiques fair event through March 31, 2017. The administrator will also consider design review approval for demolition and replacement of an existing patio structure at 1115 Bay Street and a variance allowing zero setback for the new patio structure along the southern property line. The administrator will also conduct a public hearing to consider a use permit and design review approval for a 9,200-gallon liquid nitrogen storage tank and vaporizer equipment to be located in a fenced-in enclosure on the northeast side of the Peet’s Coffee & Tea facility at 2001 Harbor Bay Parkway.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will receive an update on the process of addressing the impact of rising rents in Alameda and will consider a recommendation to approve a lease with the Water Emergency Transportation Authority for a new maintenance and operations facility at Alameda Point and to authorize the city manager to execute a memorandum of understanding with the authority for construction of a new harbor seal haul out. The council will also consider executing a 24-month lease with Advanced Roofing Services for Building 612 at 1450 Viking Street on Alameda Point. The council will also receive a status report on the development proposal for a 68-acre waterfront site at Alameda Point known as Site A. The council will also consider recommendations to approve a schedule for discussion and approvals of operating budgets for 2015-16 and 2016-17 and a process for recruiting a new city manager.
