COMMISSION ON DISABILITY ISSUES

The Commission on Disability Issues will hold a special workshop at 6 p.m. Monday, May 18 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will discuss the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and get a resource guide update. The commission will also discuss its website and logo.

PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD

The Public Utilities Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, May 18 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider proposals to implement a community solar program and to restructure power rates.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator hearing scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 has been canceled.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will consider awarding an $8 million contract for construction of a new, mid-Island fire station and emergency operations center. The council will also consider an ordinance to revise the city’s sewer service charges. The council will also consider appointing Stephanie Shipe to the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and Sommer Carter and Brandy Graham to the Public Art Commission. The council will also consider applications for installation of cell phone antennae and other equipment on top of apartment buildings at 1777 Shore Line Drive and 1538 St. Charles Street. The council will also receive a status report on the proposed Site A development at Alameda Point.
