PENSION BOARD

The Pension Board meets at 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 28 in Conference Room 391 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

COMMISSION ON DISABILITY ISSUES

The Commission on Disability Issues meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 28 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will receive presentations on the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park and Alameda Point planning documents; will discuss goals and objectives for 2013 and community outreach; and will receive an update on universal design and reports from City Council and Planning Board meetings.

PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, October 28 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approval of a use permit allowing an existing hair salon at 1519 Webster Street to move to 1549 Webster Street and will conduct a public scoping meeting on what an environmental impact report on a proposal to build 80 homes on the site of the Harbor Bay Club and to move the Club to North Loop Road should study. The board is also being asked to approve revisions to a plan to build an assisted living facility on the site of the former Chevy’s on Mariner Square Drive and will hear a report detailing impacts Alameda South Shore Center’s weekly food truck event is having on local restaurant sales.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 29 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Zoning Administrator will consider approval of a use permit to allow Alameda Island Brewery to make and sell beer at 1716 Park Street, with tasting and sales permitted from 11 a.m. to midnight seven days a week and outdoor seating available until 10 p.m. daily. The administrator will also consider a use permit to allow a temporary ice rink at Alameda South Shore Center, near the Petco store.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council will hold a closed-door special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 29 in Conference Room 391 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will discuss a potential Alameda Point land sale to Charles Company.
