PENSION BOARD

The Pension Board meets at 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 28 in Conference Room 391 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approving pension payroll and financial reports for the quarter ending June 30.

COMMUNITY MEETING – CROSS ALAMEDA TRAIL

The city’s Public Works department is holding a community meeting to discuss the proposed construction of a Cross Alameda Trail at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 28 in Conference Room 201 at City Hall West, 950 West Mall Square, Alameda Point.

On the agenda: Department representatives will discuss a proposal to build a mile-long segment of a Cross Alameda Trail between Main Street and Webster Street, on an abandoned railroad right of way next to Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway.

PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, July 28 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Planning Board will review the proposed design of the 89-home Marina Cove II development at 1551 Buena Vista Avenue and also, a proposed transportation plan intended to help manage the traffic the development will generate. The board will also review the proposed design for a 32-unit affordable housing project in the Alameda Landing development. The board will also conduct elections for leadership positions.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will consider approving exclusive negotiating agreements with Alameda United Commercial to purchase and redevelop a 5.5 acre parcel on the Alameda Point taxiways along Seaplane Lagoon and the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters. The council will also consider whether to allow the fire department to participate in a pilot paramedicine program funded by Alameda County, and to hire additional staff for the project. The council will also consider whether to approve financing of up to $3 million to build a new Fire Station 3. The council will also consider revising city fees and will offer a final vote on a companion ordinance that pairs with an ordinance rezoning Neptune Pointe for parks.

TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION

The Transportation Commission meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will consider approval of a proposal to install a bulb-out at the northwest corner of Park Street and Lincoln Avenue. The commission will also review and provide comments on potential solutions to ferry terminal access issues.
