YOUTH ADVISORY COMMISSION

The Youth Advisory Commission meets at 5 p.m. Monday, December 9 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will review and comment on the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park draft master plan; consider a Surgeon General’s report on youth tobacco use; and receive updates on a tobacco retail license opinion poll; and a 2014 teen job fair.

PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD

The Public Utilities Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, December 9 in Conference Room A/B at the Alameda Municipal Power Service Center, 2000 Grand Street.

On the agenda: The board will review and comment on updated language and terms of service changes in AMP’s rules and regulations; receive a report showing AMP is exceeding state renewable energy requirements; receive a report on renewable energy credit sales to the California Department of Water Resources, a four-year deal that could net the city’s electric company an estimated $24 million; review and approve an independent annual audit of AMP’s financials; receive preliminary findings and recommendations for rolling out advanced technology; and receive a report on proposed purchase and sale rates for energy bought and sold by homes and businesses that generate their own power.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 10 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider accepting first interim budget figures; conduct a public hearing on a proposed budget for $1.74 million in funding for Common Core implementation; receive a presentation on existing magnet and innovative programs and the application process for new programs; receive a report and recommendation that the Nea Community Learning Center’s charter be renewed; elect board officers and approve committee assignments; approve a board meeting schedule for 2014; accept proclamations honoring Jan Ortner and Inclusive School Week; and receive a report on the California School Boards Association’s annual conference.

GOLF COMMISSION

The Golf Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 10 has been canceled.

TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION

The Transportation Commission meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 11 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will receive an update detailing changes to a planned Shoreline Drive/Westline Drive bikeway; review and comment on a detailed summary of items to be included in a transportation demand management plan for Alameda Point; and review and comment on the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park draft master plan.

ALAMEDA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD

The Alameda Health Care District Board meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 11 in the Dal Cielo Conference Room on the second floor of Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approval of a new contract for 29 lab scientists and phlebotomists and a contract revision for Alameda Hospital Chief Executive Officer Deborah E. Stebbins. The board will also consider acceptance of audited financials for the 2012-13 fiscal year, unaudited financials for October 2013, extension of the hospital's budget through June 2014, and will consider approval of a board and committee meeting schedule for 2014. The board will also receive a presentation on the Bay Area Bone and Joint Center.
