PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, February 9 has been canceled.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator is conducting a hearing at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 10 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The administrator will consider approving exterior design and material modifications to an existing Burger King at 1901 Webster Street for a prospective tenant, Peet’s Coffee & Tea. The administrator will also consider approval of an outdoor use permit to allow an outdoor seating patio at the location and business hours of 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 10 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The school board will consider whether to hire Interim Superintendent Sean McPhetridge on a permanent basis. The board will also conduct a public hearing on renewal of the Alameda Community Learning Center’s charter. The board will also consider a staffing structure for the Measure I bond program, board committee assignments and appointment of board representatives to non-school district committees. The board will also receive a reading for the Season of Non-Violence and an update on the district’s English Language Learner program.

COMMUNITY MEETING – CROSS ALAMEDA TRAIL PROJECT

The city is holding a community meeting to discuss a segment of the Cross Alameda Trail project that would line Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 10 in Conference Room 201 at City Hall West, 950 West Mall Square, Alameda Point.

On the agenda: Community members will be able to discuss a preliminary design for a 0.8-mile segment of the Cross Alameda Trail that will sit in an abandoned railroad right of way along Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway, between Main Street and Webster Street.

RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION

The Recreation and Park Commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 12 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will hold a public workshop on the initial development concept for Site A, a 68-acre waterfront site at Alameda Point where homes, shops, parks and a ferry terminal are planned. The commission will also review and make recommendations on a 10-year capital improvement program for Alameda’s parks and recreation programs.

Sure hope Peet's isn't abandoning their Park Street store, and that this Webster location will be "in addition to" the Park Street store.
