The Agenda: Police retirement, hospital goals and more

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 2 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue. The public meeting will be preceded by a 6 p.m. closed session.

On the agenda: The council will adopt a resolution commending Alameda Police Lt. Ted Horlbeck for his service. The council is also being asked to approve contract changes for electrical workers, fire department administrators and non-sworn police department employees.

ALAMEDA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD

The Alameda Health Care District Board will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 4 in the Dal Cielo Conference Room at Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Avenue. The public meeting will be preceded by a closed session, at 6 p.m.

On the agenda: The board will receive an update on its goals and objectives for the prior fiscal year and consider approval of goals and objectives for the first six months of the 2014 fiscal year.

AMERICA’S CUP AD HOC COMMITTEE

The America’s Cup Ad Hoc Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 5 has been cancelled. A special meeting has been scheduled for September 11.

HISTORICAL ADVISORY BOARD

The Historical Advisory Board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 5 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider allowing changes to a commercial building at 1516 Oak Street and to a pair of homes at 1533 Pacific Avenue and 748 Pacific Avenue that were built before 1942. The board will also receive a presentation on preservation issues at Alameda Point.
