BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education will hold a closed-door session at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 in Ballena Bay Conference Room 153 in the district office, 2060 Challenger Drive.

On the agenda: The board will discuss a new superintendent. The board will accept public comments prior to entering the closed session and will report out any actions taken afterward.

GOLF COMMISSION

The Golf Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 in the Ladies Lounge at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex, 1 Clubhouse Memorial Road.

On the agenda: The commission will receive reports on golf complex facilities, beautification efforts, junior golf and the complex’s restaurant.

SOCIAL SERVICE HUMAN RELATIONS BOARD

The Social Service Human Relations Board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will welcome a new member, Audrey Hyman, and nominate officers. The board will also discuss next steps regarding homelessness in Alameda. The board will also recognize individuals and organizations for their service to the community.

LIBRARY BOARD

The Library Board meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 in conference room 224 in the Main Library, 1550 Oak Street.

On the agenda: The board will receive reports on the library’s public internet work stations and the teen room mural project. The board will also elect officers and discuss proposed changes to the library’s internet use policy. The board will also discuss the Alameda Free Library foundation, Friends of the Alameda Free Library and patron comments and suggestions.

ALAMEDA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 9 in the Dal Cielo Conference Room on the second floor of Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will interview candidates to fill the unexpired term of former board member Jordan Battani and make an appointment to the seat. The board will also consider approval of a budget for 2014-15 and of amended bylaws for the City of Alameda Health Care Corporation. The board will also consider approving contracts to hire TCA Partners to perform the annual audit of the health care district's finances and to purchase employment and practices and fiduciary liability insurance. The board will also consider changes to Alameda Hospital employees' pension plans needed to effectuate the transition of those employees to Alameda Health System. The board will also consider approving a wind-down of a related corporate entity.

AMERICA’S CUP COMMITTEE

The America’s Cup Committee meets at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 10 in conference room 391 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The committee will discuss the status of the America’s Cup 35 site selection and a work plan for 2014.
