Public Utilities Board

The Public Utilities Board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, October 21 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approval of a board performance policy to gauge the effectiveness, knowledge, resource support and effectiveness working with staff and the City Council; and will consider and comment on a strategic plan for the Northern California Power Association, of which Alameda Municipal Power is a member.

Board of Education

The Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 22 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will install a student board member for Encinal High School; receive a final presentation and audit report on the Measure C bond; consider approval of proclamations honoring American Indian Heritage Month and the Measure C oversight committee; receive presentations on budgeting priorities, changes to the district’s school lunch program and the district’s employee evaluation and assistance programs; consider approval of a contract to Quattrochi Kwok Associates for a master facilities plan and also, a list of additional items to include in the planning; and consider a mission, vision and goals for the facility master plan process.

Transportation Commission

The Transportation Commission will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 23 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will consider approval of comments to submit to AC Transit on proposed fare changes; perform unspecified action related to AC Transit’s proposed changes to Route 51A; consider an appeal of a decision not to install a four-way stop at the intersection of San Jose Avenue and Regent Street, along with staff recommendations restricting parking at the intersection; recommend approval of a plan to install a bike path on Ron Cowan Parkway between Air Cargo Way and Harbor Bay Parkway; and review and approve changes to the stops and schedule for the Estuary Crossing Shuttle, which are due to take effect on November 1.
