ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 in Room 391 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The administrator will consider amending a use permit for AT&T Mobility to add three six-foot antennas and two radio cabinets to an existing cell tower site at 3001 Otis Drive.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 in the Alameda High School cafeteria, 2201 Encinal Avenue (enter on the Central Avenue side).

On the agenda: The board will consider approval of a facilities master plan and a list of priority projects, and will also consider directing district staff to draft language for a bond measure for the board’s possible approval on June 10. The board will also consider approval of an amended contract with the union that represents paraprofessionals and office workers, and a resolution signaling its intention to finalize a land and cash swap with the city and the Alameda Housing Authority. The board will also receive reports on Alameda’s school gardens, Governor Jerry Brown’s revised budget proposal, recommended budgets for school sites, transitional kindergarten and professional learning for school leaders. The board will also consider approving a declaration of need for fully qualified educators.

PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board is scheduled to hold a public hearing to discuss a draft plan for a proposed waterfront town center at Alameda Point. The board will also conduct a design review for a planned housing development on the site of the former Chipman warehouse at 1551 Buena Vista Avenue. An annual review of the development agreement for Alameda Landing is being postponed.

TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION

The Transportation Commission meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will consider approval of a Park Street pedestrian safety project and parking improvements proposed for Park and Webster streets. The commission will also review operation of AC Transit’s Line W and a quarterly report detailing recent and future transportation plans and activities.

SOCIAL SERVICE HUMAN RELATIONS BOARD

The Social Service Human Relations Board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will hold a work session to discuss information received at its April 24 meeting regarding homelessness in Alameda.
