OPEN GOVERNMENT COMMISSION

The Open Government Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday, October 7 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will receive a status update on efforts to implement a public records index that will list all of the city’s records and whether they are available to the public and will also discuss and comment on City Council agenda titles.

YOUTH ADVISORY COMMISSION

The Youth Advisory Commission meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 8 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will discuss the 2014 Teen Job Faire and topics of interest for 2014, and will also discuss a tobacco retail license opinion poll and receive a report on unexcused absences.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 8 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will install student board members; accept proclamations on Filipino American History Month and Disability Employment Awareness Month; receive a presentation on 10 Steps to Success; review the sufficiency of the district’s textbooks; consider approval of Superintendent Kirsten Vital’s recommended candidates for the Measure A Oversight Committee; consider approval of Quattrochi Kwok Architects as the firm that will conduct a facilities study for the school district; receive a presentation from Quattrochi Kwok Architects on the scope of work, timeline and cost of the study; and discuss potential expenditure reductions.

GOLF COMMISSION

The Golf Commission meeting for October 8 has been cancelled.

ALAMEDA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT BOARD

The Alameda Health Care District Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 9 in the Dal Cielo Conference Room at Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will receive reports on the Bay Area Bone and Joint Center and the hospital’s patient centered experience committee and will consider acceptance of the hospital’s unaudited August 2013 financial statements.

AMERICA’S CUP AD HOC COMMITTEE

On the agenda: The commission will receive a presentation on a list of Alameda Point planning documents; elect a chair and vice chair; and consider requests for a letter to Senator Barbara Boxer regarding the General Services Administration’s planned use of eminent domain to take McKay Avenue in Alameda and also, for a park at the current Harbor Bay Club site.
