ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 19 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Zoning Administrator will consider whether to permit Capone’s, a planned restaurant and lounge at 1400 Park Street, to remain open until 11 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 12 a.m. Thursday and 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday and to also allow outdoor seating on sidewalk adjacent to the restaurant. The Zoning Administrator will also consider whether to permit the proposed Wine and Waffles at 1505 Park Street remain open until 11:30 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and also whether to also allow outdoor seating on sidewalk adjacent to the restaurant.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 19 in the Alameda High School cafeteria, 2201 Encinal Avenue (entrance on Central Avenue).

On the agenda: The board will receive presentations on state Proposition 30 funding and spending; the state’s new Local Control Funding Formula; a new accountability system to be put in place to monitor that spending, the Local Control and Accountability Plan; and the school district’s performance management program, along with scorecards for departments in the district office.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 19 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will receive presentations on Alameda Point and a household hazardous waste program, along with proposed fee increases for the service; consider appointing Elizabeth Wong to the Youth Advisory Commission; receive a final presentation and report from the America’s Cup Ad Hoc Committee; consider adopting a program requiring businesses and large apartment complexes to divert food waste from their garbage cans starting in July 2014; and review and comment on a revised draft master infrastructure plan and sea level rise strategy for Alameda Point.

TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION

The Transportation Commission meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 20 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will receive an update on plans for a Shoreline Drive/Westline Drive bikeway project; receive a detailed summary of the transportation demand management plan for Alameda Point; and review and provide feedback on a draft master plan for the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park.

SOCIAL SERVICE HUMAN RELATIONS BOARD

The Social Service Human Relations Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 21 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will receive reports about developing a process for making informed recommendations on Community Development Block Grant funding; state Senate Bill 48, the Fair Education Act; and workgroup progress reports.
