PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD

The Public Utilities Board will hold a budget workshop at 4 p.m. Monday, April 20 and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 20 in Conference Room A/B of the Alameda Municipal Power service center, 2000 Grand Street.

On the agenda: Board members will consider a draft of Alameda Municipal Power’s 2016 budget at the 4 p.m. workshop. At its regular meeting, the board will consider changes to electric rates and will also consider approval of a five-year strategic plan for Alameda Municipal Power.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The administrator will consider whether to grant a use permit allowing the sale of wine and beer to students in classes at an art studio at 2210 South Shore Center, Unit D.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: Council members will receive a status update on development planning for Site A at Alameda Point and will consider completing efforts to expand special taxing districts at Alameda Landing. The council will also consider accepting a report regarding a strategy for making Alameda more resilient after disasters and also, approving a staff positing in the city manager’s office for overseeing the strategy. The council will consider an ordinance requiring large grocery store chains to retain workers for a transitional period after an ownership change. The council will also consider resolutions to add an additional regular, monthly meeting to its calendar and to commend outgoing City Manager John Russo and Assistant City Manager Alex Nguyen for their service.

TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION

The Transportation Commission meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will consider approving a recommendation to loosen parking restrictions near the Harbor Bay ferry terminal.

SOCIAL SERVICE HUMAN RELATIONS BOARD

The Social Service Human Relations Board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will review information about Laura’s Law and will consider advocating for its implementation in Alameda County. The board will also consider co-sponsoring Alameda’s Harvey Milk Day Celebration. The board will also receive an update on its participation in upcoming city festivals.
