ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 18 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Zoning Administrator will consider approval of a use permit for the California Historical Radio Society, which is seeking to move a museum and administrative offices into an existing building at 2152 Central Avenue.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 18 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The mayor will give her State of the City address, and Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter will give their end-of-year update.

SOCIAL SERVICE HUMAN RELATIONS BOARD

The Social Service Human Relations Board meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 19 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will review and offer recommendations on the budget for non-housing federal Community Development Block Grant funds, which are spent on local social services.

BOARD OF EDUCATION POLICY SUBCOMMITTEE

The Board of Education Policy Subcommittee scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20 in Harbor Bay Conference Room 135 at the district office, 2060 Challenger Drive has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set.

On the agenda: The subcommittee will review and discuss California School Boards Association policy updates from August 2013 and October 2013.

SUCCESSOR OVERSIGHT AGENCY BOARD

The Successor Oversight Agency Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 20 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider a staff request that it declines further action in a dispute with the state over the city’s transfer of the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex and parking garage property from its former redevelopment agency, the Community Improvement Commission, to the city. It will also consider approval of a payment schedule for redevelopment obligations between July 1 and December 31; repayment of $910,290 borrowed from the former redevelopment agency’s low-income housing fund for payments to a state education fund; the expenditure of $407,000 in unused redevelopment bond money for a crosswalk at Wilver “Willie” Stargell Avenue and Webster Street; extension of a consulting contract with Keyser Marston Associates in the additional amount of $50,000; and an amendment to the board’s bylaws to move its annual meeting to the second Wednesday in September.
