PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, September 8 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will hold a public hearing to consider revised elevations and other revisions for “Building B” at the Marina Cove II development, also known as Marina Shores; the multifamily townhome building is to be constructed at the corner of Buena Vista Avenue and Entrance Way. The board will also conduct officer elections.

YOUTH ADVISORY COMMISSION

The Youth Advisory Commission meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 9 has been canceled.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 9 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The board will consider approval of a spending limit for 2013-14 and 2014-15 and receive presentations detailing unaudited school district financials and a staff analysis of a solar master plan prepared by Kyoto USA. The board will also receive reports on early back to school enrollment numbers, BaySci K-5 science professional development and the Alameda Education Foundation’s Power Up for Learning And Equipped 4 Success programs.

GOLF COMMISSION

LIBRARY BOARD

The Library Board meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 10 in Conference Room 224 at the Main Library, 1550 Oak Street.

On the agenda: The board will receive a wrap-up report on public internet work stations and discuss the library’s internet use policy. The board will also receive reports on the donation of a photo montage to the West End Library, the Integrated Library System procurement process, the Alameda Free Library Foundation, Friends of the Alameda Free Library and patron comments and responses.

RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION

The Recreation and Park Commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 11 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The commission will receive presentations on Alameda Recreation and Park Department programs, the department’s annual report for 2013-14, a Jean Sweeney Open Space Park update, an Estuary Park update and reports from department director Amy Wooldridge.
