PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday, December 16 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Planning Board will review and comment on a draft conceptual plan for the Jean Sweeney Open Space Park; receive required ethics training from the City Attorney’s office; review and approve a meeting schedule for 2014; and receive reports from the Alameda Point town center and Alameda Point zoning ad hoc subcommittees.

ZONING ADMINISTRATOR

The Zoning Administrator meets at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 17 in Conference Room 360 on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The Zoning Administrator will consider use permits allowing Bambu Dessert & Drink to remain open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and to have outdoor seating, permitting a grocery store to operate at 1525 Webster Street from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and allowing Get Goes Mobile Café to operate between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. daily at the Main Street ferry terminal.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education is holding a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 17 in the Alameda High School cafeteria, 2201 Encinal Avenue (enter on Central Avenue).

On the agenda: The board will consider extending the Nea Community Learning Center’s charter for five years and will consider approval of a contract to provide food to Bright Horizons.

CITY COUNCIL

The City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 17 in council chambers on the third floor of City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Avenue.

On the agenda: The council will consider approval of a proposal to revise ambulance transport fees, consider appeals of Transportation Commission decisions to move a bus stop for Line 51A from the northeast corner of Santa Clara Avenue and Willow Street to the northeast corner of that intersection and not to install an all-way stop at the intersection of San Jose Avenue and Regent Street, receive a presentation on the potential fiscal impact of development at Alameda Point, and consider additional tax breaks of up to $1 million for VF Outdoor, which is considering expanding operations in Alameda. Sitting as the Successor Agency to the Community Improvement Commission, the council will receive income, expenditure and maintenance reports for the property under the commission’s purview. In close session, the council will discuss a potential sale or lease of 650 West Tower Avenue and 707 West Tower Avenue on Alameda Point to the Del Monte Corporation.
