Alameda Boy Scouts Nick Adgar, Daniel McCormick, Kyle Rentschler and Sam Wu received the Eagle Scout award during a recent Boy Scouts of America National Court of Honor. Each scout - over a several year commitment - has worked his way through the various ranks, earning at least 21 merit badges, serving in multiple leadership positions and planning and implementing a community service project to earn scouting's highest achievement.

Scouting highlights for Nick, Daniel, Kyle and Sam include attending several summer camps, a National Scout Jamboree, National Youth Leadership Training and leading their troop on numerous outdoor activities.

The scouts are members of Troop 89, chartered by Oakland Machine Works, which meets at Lum Elementary School on Tuesday evenings. The troop has produced over 90 Eagle Scouts since 1967.
