Editor’s Note: Comments welcome!

We here at the Alameda Community News Project had an exciting first week. We launched a brand-new news and information resource for Alameda residents, offered in-depth reports on the death of redevelopment and Alameda teachers’ rising health care costs, broke the news about a complaint filed with the state over Alameda’s contracting practices, and Tweeted up-to-the-minute reports from the Board of Education meet.

Only one thing was missing: Your thoughts on these important issues.

Comments on our stories are welcome, and posting them is easy. Just fill out our simple registration form and then have your say. Become an early member of our online community and help guide the discussion on the major issues confronting our community.

We’d also like to know if you’ve got story ideas or suggestions for improving the site. I’m already checking out two potential stories suggested by readers and we are working to improve the site based on your feedback. Send your story ideas and site suggestions to me at michele@alamedacommunitynewsproject.org. We've got a free and easy-to-use event calendar as well; if you'd like to sign up to post your events, drop me a line.

Thanks for participating and stay tuned for more up-to-the minute news!
